Corel has appointed Patrick Nichols its new CEO, the Ottawa-based software company announced Thursday.
Mr. Nichols replaces Tom Berquist, who will continue as non-executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. Mr. Berquist also becomes operating partner of Vector Capital, Corel’s major shareholder.
Mr. Nichols joined Corel five years ago as president of its WinZip compression software branch and was also general manager of Corel, Roxio, Pinnacle and ReviverSoft.
