A crop of familiar faces from the University of Ottawa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem are returning to the local post-secondary institution to supe up their startups in an all-new “garage.”
Scaleup Garage, uOttawa’s new accelerator program for companies that have moved beyond the early-stage Startup Garage, unveiled its first cohort of five companies on Tuesday. The eight-month program looks to help student- and alumni-led companies take the next step in scaling their firms through mentorship, support services and office space provided through uOttawa’s Entrepreneurship Hub.
The program – funded through FedDev Ontario’s new Scaleup platform – was first announced in August at Startup Garage’s 10-year anniversary. Kathleen Kemp, eHub’s managing director, spoke to Techopia Live then about taking the long-running accelerator program to the next level.

Scaleup Garage’s first five participants, all alumni of the Startup Garage program, are listed below.
MyPitboard
At the aforementioned Startup Garage rally, MyPitboard took home the best business opportunity prize for its embedded dashboard system geared towards motocross racers. The startup’s tech provides real-time analytics to racers as they speed along a track, eliminating the need for assistants holding whiteboards displaying lap times.
Point3D Commercial Imaging
Another member of the 2019 Startup Garage cohort, Point3D creates 3D tours of commercial and retail showrooms as well as home and office listings, cultural sites and new developments.
Noibu
Noibu also got its start in 3D imaging for retailers, but has pivoted to help merchants keep their online storefronts bug-free. The company offers an automated solution to monitor e-commerce sites for errors in third-party integrations, checkout processes, website uptime and more.
Relomigo
Relomigo looks to help workers handle the stresses of relocating for a job. The startup’s app helps new or transferring employees to find home listings, conduct virtual viewings and fill out lease agreements, as well as set relocating workers up with nearby services and amenities such as family doctors and schools.
Thawrih
A Bootstrap Award-winner in 2019, Thawrih develops activewear aimed at Sikh and Muslim athletes, such as crafting traditionally heavy cloth hijabs and turbans from more breathable materials in a way that won’t collect sweat or fall off in action.
