A local software firm that helps DNA labs track samples says it’s signed new deals with three U.S. states to assist in sexual assault investigations.
Washington, Arizona and Michigan will use STACS DNA’s product to monitor the testing of the kit, allowing law enforcement officials, prosecutors, lab workers and the sexual assault victim to securely access and track its status.
Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

STACS DNA has its roots as an IT consulting company, Anjura Technology, that was founded in 1992. One of Anjura’s clients, the RCMP, required software to manage its DNA bank – a project that eventually lead to the founding of STACS DNA to specialize in processing software for DNA labs.
