An Ottawa communications firm, responsible for adult film star and American political figure Stormy Daniels’ website, is bringing a cryptocurrency-based payment system to its high-profile client’s site.
“Even Stormy Daniels understands the value of cryptocurrency,” said Stuart Duncan, chief executive officer of Vice Industry Token, in a statement. VIT is a California-based company that develops a unique digital currency for the adult film industry.
Users receive the VIT cryptocurrency for interacting on sites where it’s been implemented. Watching videos, liking and commenting earns users VIT, which can then be spent on premium content.

Many of the sites also have subscription models built in, with the cryptocurrency addition offering a chance to paying users to recoup some of their the monthly fees. The pitch is that users should be rewarded for their attention, and the more time users spend on a site, the better the deal for all parties.
Ottawa-based Darkreach Communications manages 20 other adult film stars’ websites, all of which will implement the cryptocurrency. Daniels – real name Stephanie Clifford – is the firm’s highest-profile client, with her ongoing lawsuit against United States President Donald Trump making her a prominent fixture in the country’s political landscape.
Darkreach president Rob Murray said in a statement that “everybody wins” with this new cryptocurrency model and called it a “no-brainer” to integrate it into the firm’s websites.
