Au revoir, RendezVous
The big story we’re following this week is the fallout from Friday’s news that Eugene Melnyk’s Capital Sports Management is suing John Ruddy and Trinity Development Group, severing the RendezVous LeBreton partnership that would’ve seen the redevelopment of LeBreton Flats with a new downtown arena for the Ottawa Senators.
Ruddy issued a statement on Friday denying CSM’s allegations that he sabotaged the LeBreton Flats project over a conflict of interest related to Trinity’s nearby 900 Albert development, which will see three highrises emerge over Bayview Station.

Tech conferences hit the capital
Software and networking tech will be the focal points of two tech conferences in Ottawa this week.
On Tuesday the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networking will host its annual summit, welcoming 300 attendees to the Brookstreet Hotel to delve into the theme of “prosperity through connectivity.”
SaaS North returns to the Shaw Centre on Nov. 28-29. The annual software-as-a-service conference and expo has become a must-attend event for local SaaS firms and this year hit gender parity in its speaker lineup.
