An affiliate of Hyatt Hotels has entered an agreement with Claridge Homes to bring a new hotel to the ByWard Market by mid-2016.
The 200-room Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will be built at 325 Dalhousie Street, at York Street, where the old Union Du Canada building once stood. It will be the first Andaz-branded hotel in Canada. The hotels can be found in international cities like London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
The hotel will also have a destination restaurant, a rooftop bar and lounge, and meeting facilities.
