Mxi opens American headquarters in Texas

Mxi Technologies, an Ottawa aviation software firm, opened its new U.S. headquarters this week in Irving, Texas, a place the company called “one of the biggest and most dynamic aerospace and defense hubs in the United States.”

Increasing demand for its Maintenix software from U.S. civil and defence aviation clients prompted the firm to open up shop in the suburb of Dallas, CEO Bill Cavitt said.

“The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area has witnessed tremendous growth over the past decade, making it an ideal location from which we can effectively support our growing U.S. customer base,” Mr. Cavitt said in a statement. “Our new office will help strengthen our on-the-ground representation in an area that boasts a vibrant IT and aerospace community.”

Mr. Cavitt said there was no real substitute for having an experienced local team near Mxi’s customers.

The new American headquarters for Mxi comes on the heels of what was a very successful 2015 for the company. It added eight new customers that contributed more than 1,000 aircraft to its software’s global footprint.

In a year Mr. Cavitt called “impressive,” Mxi also left its former Blair Road offices for a new 45,000-square-foot space on Terry Matthews Crescent in Kanata.

Mr. Cavitt said part of the firm’s 2015 success can be directly credited to its partners and clients.

“Fostering these invaluable relationships, together with growing interest in the breadth and depth of our solutions across both the civil and defence markets, positions us well for 2016.”
