A national accounting firm with a growing Ottawa presence will become even larger this summer when it merges with a Brockville professional services firm.

On July 1, MNP will officially join with McDonald Thorne and Associates, which was founded in 2002 and currently has one partner and six staff.

Michael Dimitriou, MNP’s regional managing partner for the Ottawa Region, said the transaction was driven by a desire to expand the company’s presence in Brockville, where it already had approximately a dozen staff.

“As the Brockville business community continues to evolve, so does its needs for more specialty services,” Mr. Dimitriou stated.

MNP has been growing rapidly in Ottawa, doubling its real estate footprint in the nation’s capital last year and moving into the Churchill Office Park on Carling Avenue.

Last September, the company merged with Kanata-based consulting company A Hundred Answers. In 2014, it joined with Ottawa-based McLarty & Co.
