The new owner of a Vanier development site has submitted fresh plans for a multi-tower residential project near Montreal Road and the Vanier Parkway.
Earlier this month, consultants for Ottawa-based Manor Park Management filed a zoning amendment application that would allow it to build 591 residential units across three towers near the southwest corner of the intersection.
Two of the buildings would be 19 storeys each and connected by an eight-storey podium. A third structure would be 16 storeys. The development would contain a three-storey underground garage with 787 vehicular stalls.

Plans also call for nearly 2,200 square feet of commercial space to “animate” a central courtyard.
The property, located at 112 Montreal Rd. and 314 Gardner St., was previously home to a motel that was demolished late last year. The Esso gas station at the southwest corner of the intersection is not part of the development application.
This is not the first time that a developer has proposed highrises for the site.
In 2016, DCR Phoenix presented plans that included six residential buildings ranging from six to 18 storeys. While that proposal had the support of the area’s BIA, some residents expressed concerns about the impact of the additional vehicle traffic.
