The North American division of Framos, a German imaging technology firm, says it’s tripling its real estate footprint in Ottawa as it looks for additional engineers and salespeople to join the firm.
The company currently has nine Ottawa-based employees and plans to be at 13 in the coming months, says Tracy Reid, Framos’ North American marketing manager. More hires are expected in the new year, she adds.
“Ottawa is quickly becoming a hub for well-known players in the imaging industry and we are very happy to be a part of it,” Ms. Reid says.

The company has leased 4,500 square feet on Lancaster Road, up from its current 1,500-square-foot facility.
Munich-based Framos sells sensors, industrial cameras, lenses and related software to the manufacturing, medical, logistics, mobility and scientific sectors.
Ms. Reid said the company’s growth has mirrored the increased use of cameras and imaging technology in consumer and business devices, such as drones, robotic surgery and autonomous vehicles.
