As it continues to plan the exterior rehabilitation of a Gatineau office complex, the federal government is looking for an architectural team to act as the prime consultant on the project.
In a recent procurement notice, Public Services and Procurement Canada said it was looking for an architectural consultant to review documentation as well as prepare design and construction tender documents, among other tasks. Interested firms have until Aug. 20 to submit their bid.
Last year, PSPC awarded PCL a $217.6-million construction management contract for the recladding project, which will see the roofs, exterior brick wall and windows of the complex replaced. When finished, the four towers will feature a facade of glass and aluminum with wood elements inside the windows.

Built in 1978, the 1.53-million-square-foot complex was purchased by the federal government in 2013.
PSPC says the complex is home to the headquarters of Indigenous Services Canada, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, Canadian Heritage, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and the Canadian Transportation Agency. It will remain occupied throughout construction.
PSPC says it expects a fully detailed tender-ready design to be complete within 11 months of awarding a contract.
