An Ottawa startup equipping first responders with smart tech has received a $615,000 loan from FedDev Ontario, one of the federal government’s regional development agencies.
Advance Property eXposure Canada, or APX for short, develops software to show first responders building layouts and floor plans on mobile devices as they arrive at the scene of an emergency. Last year the startup secured a deal with the City of Ottawa’s fire services and announced its solution would plug into Nokia’s control room product.
According to a release, the local firm will add the FedDev cash to past contributions from members of the Capital Angel Network and the Ontario Centres of Excellence to create 15 new jobs in Ottawa.
