A trial program being rolled out by city hall will give community associations in one downtown ward more say in residential and commercial construction projects proposed by developers.
Mayor Jim Watson and Alta Vista Coun. Peter Hume, chair of the city’s planning committee, announced the initiative Monday at City Hall.
“The pilot project employs community engagement earlier in the process, before the development application is even officially made,” Mr. Hume said in a statement. “This promising initiative makes the process more transparent, allowing earlier communication with the community and builds awareness of the planning process.”
