After being closed for more than 18 months as the pandemic all but wiped out tourist traffic for most of 2020 and into 2021, the family-owned downtown hotel will start welcoming guests on Oct. 1.
Toronto-based carrier says it will start flying to 11 destinations in Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic in November, with weekly flights running until March or April 2022.
“The recovery is starting for sure … but it’s not going to be an even recovery,” Ottawa Tourism CEO Michael Crockatt says of sector's ability to bounce back in the wake of COVID-19.
Toronto-based carrier announced it will restart its operations in phases, with Ottawa among four Canadian cities where Porter will initially resume flights on Sept. 8.
