In an effort to encourage the business community’s return to work strategy, the Ottawa Board of Trade and Ottawa Business Journal will proceed with their annual golf tournament.
Ottawa’s Biggest Networking Golf Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Grey Hawk Golf Club.
The tournament will proceed with several significant changes, including gradual tee-off times for foursomes (instead of a shotgun start), only one golfer per cart, no banquet dinner and other social distancing measures.

“Most business leaders in our city haven’t seen people in their business networks face-to-face since the beginning of the pandemic in mid-March,” says Sueling Ching, president and CEO of the Board of Trade. “We are ready to get back to business. This tournament will mark our next step for returning to work and giving local business leaders the opportunity to network safely and in full adherence to public health recommendations.”
The tradition of a Board of Trade and OBJ golf tournament dates back more than 20 years. The annual event attracts business owners, executives and managers for a fun-filled day of golf and networking.
“I think business people are really eager to see each other and connect, both for personal reasons and business development,” says Michael Curran, OBJ publisher. “This tournament will hopefully provide that opportunity.”
