The federal government is moving to change how it hires contractors to fit up space across its massive office portfolio in the National Capital Region and throughout the country with new standing offers that could see projects worth up to $60 million awarded to successful proponents.
Public Services and Procurement Canada says it’s contemplating the establishment of design-build standing offers – a contracting vehicle that enables government officials to purchase services from suppliers at pre-arranged prices as required.
Earlier this month, the federal government published a request for information from companies and consortiums seeking feedback on its proposed approach.
