The City of Ottawa is helping local companies test-drive new technology in an effort to reignite the local economy once COVID-19 restrictions are eased.
Under the program launched on Wednesday, the city and other economic partners will provide “real-life testing environments” where up to five tech Ottawa firms can deploy prototypes and get feedback on their products.
The program will focus on public health technology such as mobile apps as well as products that aid in the city’s economic recovery, including click-and-collect services and virtual work platforms. The city says priority will be given to sectors such as health, tourism, festivals and events, restaurants, retail, construction, transportation and food supply.
