Real estate in the capital: What are Ottawa’s hottest neighbourhoods?

Ottawa housing

Continuing a recent trend, homes in Ottawa’s outlying areas were a hot commodity at the end of 2018, driving up prices in areas such as Leitrim, Manotick and Stittsville closer to levels traditionally seen in popular central neighbourhoods such as the Glebe and Westboro.

Housing prices in those rural areas have risen by up to 47 per cent in the past five years, according to data from the Ottawa Real Estate Board.

But outlying neighbourhoods aren’t the only ones where housing prices have risen rapidly in recent years. According to OREB data, prices in 35 out of 60 neighbourhoods have increased by more than 20 per cent over the last five years.
