A popular meetings and events space in Nepean has a new name.
Centrepointe Theatre, located just off Woodroffe Avenue near Algonquin College, was officially renamed Tuesday as Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe under a sponsorship agreement struck last year.
Under the deal, Meridian Credit Union will pay the city $65,000 annually for 15 years, for a total of $975,000. Of that sum, $200,000 will go towards capital and operating improvements at the theatres, including cultural programming and support for local arts groups that rent the facility.
