An Ottawa tech firm that powers an Airbnb-like platform to rent recreational vehicles says it;s partnering with a U.S. company that will effectively allow their respective customers to rent RVs on either side of the border.
RVezy says it will power all Canadian rentals for Ohio-based RVshare, which it calls the largest RV rental platform in the United States.
“This will help drive even more rentals to our RV owners here in Canada,” RVezy CEO Michael McNaught said in a statement.

Meanwhile, RVshare will power U.S. rentals for the RVezy platform.
McNaught, a former police officer, launched the peer-to-peer rental company in 2016 and had more than 300 users across Canada signed up to rent out their motorhomes as of this summer.
Mr. McNaught says that this year, RVezy will pay out more than $500,000 to those people.
He previously told OBJ that his goal is to make RV travel more affordable and said the rates on RVezy are half of a traditional rental and a fraction of the cost of owning a recreational vehicle.
