Shopify’s director of engineering, Jason Normore, said adding Apple Pay create a more “seamless” process for Shopify merchants and their customers.
“Shopify’s mission has always been to enable our merchants to offer their customers the best experience, and that’s why the announcement of Apple Pay coming to the web is so exciting,” Mr. Normore said in a statement.
It is no secret that Shopify is targeting the mobile space as its business grows. It says 60 per cent of checkouts started come from the mobile user, but only 40 per cent of these users actually complete a transaction.
Mr. Normore said adding Apple Pay is “laying the groundwork” for a better mobile experience.
