Parkin Architects and Adamson Associates Architects will be the lead designers of the state-of-the-art hospital. PCL Investments and ED Capital are the financial advisers.
“Signing this agreement is an enormous milestone for the new campus project,” Ottawa Hospital president and CEO Cameron Love said in a news release.
“Our collaborative efforts with all of our partners will reshape the future of health care across the region for our community for generations to come.”
Construction of the new Civic campus is slated to start later this year and is expected to be completed in 2028.
The provincial ministry of health is contributing $2.1 billion towards the new hospital, while local business and community leaders are spearheading a $500-million fundraising campaign to help cover the remaining costs.
Hospital officials say the construction project will inject nearly $2 billion into Ottawa’s economy and create more than 4,000 full-time jobs over the next four years.
“It’ll generate a lot of revenues directly into the Ottawa economy,” Nathalie Cadieux, The Ottawa Hospital’s chief financial officer, told OBJ in a 2022 interview.
