Westin Ottawa, Delta City Centre to donate Friday night’s room revenues to CHEO

One of Ottawa’s best-known hotel general managers has a win-win proposition for anyone looking for a last-minute staycation.

Book a hotel room at either the Westin Ottawa or the Delta Hotel by Marriott Ottawa City Centre this upcoming Friday night and he will donate 100 per cent of the room revenue to CHEO’s charitable foundation.

Ross Meredith, who moved to Ottawa almost seven years ago to become general manager at the Westin and just weeks ago added the Delta Ottawa City Centre to his portfolio, says employees at both hotels have very personal relationships with the children’s hospital.

“CHEO has been there for them in their times of need and now we want to be there for CHEO,” says Meredith.

Associates at both hotels have raised more than $25,000 for the CHEO Foundation in recent years, he says, and they realize that, during a pandemic, the charitable organization is being negatively impacted by the cancellation or postponement of in-person fundraising activities.

“We think this is a total win-win,” says Meredith. “People can benefit from a close-to-home and safe getaway at two great hotels and CHEO is better able to look after sick children.”

Rooms this Friday at the Westin start at $199 and $169 at the Delta.
