When Glenview Homes’ Design and Drafting Manager Eno Reveli sat down to design a new production floor plan, he wasn’t thinking about awards or show homes. He was thinking about his family.
With four children under the age of four, Eno understood first-hand the realities of modern family life, the need for flexible space, practical storage, and layouts that can evolve over time. The result was the Reveli floor plan – a home designed not as a statement piece, but as a response to how families actually live.
In 2025, that approach earned industry recognition when the Reveli took home the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA)’s Housing Design Award for best production home (single detached, $1,100,001 or more) in collaboration with West of Main Design.
For Eno, however, the recognition was secondary to something else: Seeing a home shaped by lived experiences resonate with others.
The Reveli’s homeowner story
Eno and his wife Tina purchased their own Glenview home in the Succession Court community in Stittsville, where they’re raising their young family. The experience of being both designer and homeowner offered a rare perspective that influenced decisions both large and small.
“We knew we needed a home that could adapt,” Eno says. “Not just for where we are now, but for what family life looks like five or ten years down the road.”
That thinking led to features that support multi-generational living, including a main-floor bedroom option, generous shared spaces, and a layout designed to flex as family needs change. Storage was treated as essential rather than optional, with walk-in closets, a practical mudroom, and a kitchen designed to accommodate both daily routines and large gatherings.
“Our house is always full,” Tina says. “Family dinners, birthdays, holidays – it’s loud, and it’s busy. The house works because it was designed for that.”
Seeing the process from both sides
Experiencing Glenview as a homeowner gave Eno a new perspective on the importance of communication and transparency during the building process. As a local, family-owned and family-run builder, Glenview takes a hands-on approach with its homeowners. From early conversations with the sales team to regular construction updates and homeowner seminars, the process emphasizes clarity and education.
“That support from a builder is especially important for first-time buyers,” Tina says. “Knowing what to expect makes a huge difference.”
Several friends of the Revelis have since purchased Glenview homes, encouraged by both their quality and the experience behind them.
From a family home to a model home
Today, the Reveli serves as Glenview Homes’ model home at Union West, a thoughtfully planned new community in Stittsville. Here, visitors experience the floor plan not as a conceptual design, but as a fully realized home shaped by the everyday realities of family life.
Union West is located between Shea Road and Terry Fox Drive, within an established and growing area of Ottawa’s west end. The community brings together a mix of single and double-car garage homes alongside modern townhomes, all set within reach of local schools, parks, transit, and daily amenities. It’s the kind of neighbourhood designed to support families at different stages, offering both connection and convenience without feeling overly programmed.
For the Revelis, seeing their family-inspired design represented within the broader community adds another layer of meaning.
The home has already become the backdrop for milestones that matter. Tina recalls their youngest daughter, Sophia, crawling across the main floor for the first time.
For their children, the home also contains a story they’ll grow into.
“One day they’ll know this home is named after our family, after their dad,” Tina says. “That’s pretty special.”
Looking ahead to 2026
As Glenview Homes looks ahead to 2026 – with continued releases at Union West in Stittsville and The Commons in Orleans, alongside new communities planned at Ironwood in Riverside South and Wateridge Village – the same design philosophy behind the Reveli continues to guide their work: homes shaped by real family needs, evolving lifestyles, and long-term livability.
The recognition the Reveli received at the 2025 GOHBA Housing Design Awards serves as a milestone in that ongoing approach – a moment that reflects how lived experience, thoughtful planning, and collaboration can come together in a production home setting. For Glenview, it reinforces the value of designing from the inside out, where everyday use informs every decision.
For Eno, the significance of the project remains deeply personal.
“When you design something with your own family in mind, it stays with you,” he says. “Knowing that those same spaces are now supporting other families, their routines, their milestones – that’s what gives the work meaning.”
