For Ian Smith, owner and President of Interactive Audio Visual (IAV), technology has always been centered around the human experience, especially in the workplace. His dedication to the information technology (IT) field has spanned across decades, leading him to establish IAV, which implements new technologies in offices that empower people to work better together.
IAV brings audio and video technology together under one solution to provide a seamless experience for workplaces.
IAV provides turnkey integrated technological solutions that enhance companies’ communications and interactions with others. For companies that have stringent requirements and multiple highly utilized work-spaces, IAV can create customized installation templates that can be deployed in each room.
“When a client intends to implement the same solutions in each of its rooms, our team establishes a tailored standard that provide flexible options and capabilities, but also fit within a specific budget,” says Smith.
To make the process more efficient and reduce the need for additional construction, IAV simplifies deployment challenges. One of the solutions the company provides is the inclusion of a robust mobile cart that supports large format display, video bars with cameras, microphone arrays and speakers. Its height is also adjustable, which allows for the optimization of camera and display positions.
“An advantage of the mobile cart is its sound absorbative surfaces, which improve audio quality within a room,” says Smith.
IAV can pre-configure and pre-program equipment off-site and install it into the cart. It can be programmed for the user’s specific preferences. When it arrives, employees can simply press the presentation button, and their content will be shown on the high-resolution display.
“The end-experience a client is looking for can be delivered fully from one entity. Everything can be simplified to the point of a room only providing power and a network prop,” says Smith.
Mounting all required electronics on the mobile cart saves time and reduces expenses. Installation can take less than a day.
“When arriving on-site, we simply add the cables to the cable cubby and then install the floor track to protect them from people walking or from cleaners’ cleaning the space. These floor tracks are rugged and are accessible for wheelchair users as well,” says Smith.
IAV can also include an occupancy sensor for meeting rooms. Once an employee walks in, the system starts automatically and is ready for wireless presentation. User preferences can be set when it turns on. After a meeting is over, the occupancy sensor recognizes the lack of movement in the room and automatically powers its devices down. This saves energy for the next user.
There are benefits to a client having multiple meeting spaces. Their control system monitoring platform can be remotely monitored and supported by their in-house tech support team. Room utilization analytics can also be used for future decision making.
Adopting a non-construction, multi-use template is an optimal solution for businesses with a strict budget and defined project period seeking to re-imagine their office space. IAV’s customized templates provide long-term solutions for clients that can be updated with ease.
