Eric Saumure

Eric Saumure, co-founder of Zenbooks, one of Ottawa’s fastest growing companies in 2024, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Recognized as one of Ottawa’s 2024 Forty Under 40, Saumure is quickly emerging as a leader in online accounting and Ottawa’s financial sector. He has also acted as CFO for the Mark Sutcliffe mayoral campaign, illustrating his skill in managing complex budgets.

Yet, it’s his personal connection to cystic fibrosis, with his wife Chloe living with the condition, that drives his commitment and offers him a unique perspective on the community’s challenges.

Through his professional experience and personal dedication, he brings an innovative approach to financial management, valuable governance expertise, and strategic insights to the organization.

“We are exceptionally fortunate to have Eric join our board. His leadership and personal experience with cystic fibrosis bring invaluable insights that will guide our strategic decisions,” remarked Kelly Grover, President and CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Saumure’s arrival coincides with the rollout of Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s strategic plan for 2024–2027, a period marked by transformative advancements in cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) medications that are changing the demographics and life expectancy of those affected. His expertise will be crucial in navigating this era of significant change.
