The federal government says it’s the most complex rehabilitation project ever undertaken on Parliament Hill.
The West Block is in the midst of an $863-million facelift that involves repairing stonework, replacing electrical equipment and reinforcing the building to withstand an earthquake, among other elements.
Additionally, a new glass roof is being installed to cover an inner courtyard that’s being converted into the House of Commons chamber.
PCL is the lead contractor for the project, which is scheduled to wrap up next year.
The federal government recently released several photos that give a unique look at what's happening inside the project.
