Ashleigh Kennedy (left), co-founder of Ottawa's Neurovine, and Kostya Khomutov, CEO of GBatteries, are among the speakers lined up for this year's TEDxKanata.

Local technology leaders will look to fire up the crowd onstage at TEDxKanata in March as they share their own perspectives on this year’s theme: Ignite.

This year marks the sixth iteration of the independently organized TEDx event in Kanata. True to the TED brand, the 2020 lineup will feature speakers that look to push the boundaries of the possible in their day-to-day work.

That includes Kostya Khomutov, CEO of Ottawa-based GBatteries. Khomutov’s company is developing technology that could charge an electric vehicle’s battery in the time it takes to fill up a tank of gas.

In a conversation with Techopia last year, Khomutov self-identified as “one of the crazy people” looking to radically change the world’s conception of electric charging; he’ll be taking that audacious attitude to the TEDx stage as he speaks about igniting an energy revolution.

Elsewhere in the speaker lineup is the equally ambitious Ashleigh Kennedy, co-founder of Neurovine. The Ottawa-based startup landed investor support for its technology that looks to help athletes better manage their concussion recovery through an artificial intelligence-based monitoring system.

At TEDxKanata, Kennedy will discuss how to embrace the AI revolution in health care when it comes improving outcomes and protecting personal data.

Other speakers at the March 5 event will include J.P. Michel, founder of SparkPath and winner of Invest Ottawa’s pre-accelerator program, and Wendy Knight Agard, a coach with Shopify. Check out the full list of speakers here and grab your tickets now.
