Ottawa Bluesfest

Bluesfest is receiving $9.8 million to help it expand its facilities and increase its capacity for high-profile shows, the federal government announced Thursday.
Shows slated to be broadcast in selected local hotels were postponed after the Ontario government imposed tougher restrictions to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Room Service Concert Series will feature acts such as Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle, comedian Gerry Dee and American rock band Third Eye Blind.
Blues in the Schools, Be in the Band and a year-round music school could be axed if the city makes Bluesfest pay for transit, festival executive director Mark Monahan warned Thursday.
