Ross Video acquires American graphics designer

Ross Video announced Sunday it has acquired Virginia-based Rocket Surgery Design Services in a move to boost its fledgling Ross’ Creative Services Group.

Rocket Surgery is a specialist in designing broadcast and production motion graphics. Its founder, Jim Doyle, will be joining Ross’ Creative Services Group as director of creative and technical services.

Ross’ Creative Services Group was formed less than a year ago to provide a flexible end-to-end experience for the customer, the company said in a statement. It does graphic design for Ross clients, including major broadcasters and National Football League franchises.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

“Our clients are looking for more than just equipment from us these days, and adding Jim Doyle and team will give us the added talent and capacity to scale this important service to better meet their needs,” Ross Video CEO David Ross said in a statement, adding the creative services group has been going “flat out” since starting to take on graphic design projects for Ross’ clients.

Up until now, it was struggling to keep up, he said.

“Ross XPression is the best and most forward-thinking motion graphics platform in the industry,” Mr. Doyle said in a statement. “We are excited about joining Ross Video. Ross has a talented team and has built a great corporate culture.”
