One of DragonWave’s co-founders announced this week he is leaving the firm – but he isn’t going far.
Erik Boch, who had been DragonWave’s CTO and vice-president of engineering, has founded a new firm called Ranzure Networks, where he will also be CTO. Ranzure Networks will focus on next-generation customized wireless service to support the Internet of Things.
The new company has some financial backing from Mitel, and will use Mitel Mobile technology to deliver a cloud-based platform enabling wireless connectivity of 5G networks.
Mitel and DragonWave recently announced a partnership to advance the development of 5G networking. DragonWave said it looks forward to future collaboration with Mr. Boch in his new role.
With Mr. Boch’s departure, Ingrid Mag will become vice-president of product development and Yu Qi will assume responsibility for the Chinese market.
