A rocking good time at Broadway for Bruyère

Guests danced late into the night at Broadway for Bruyère, an annual signature gala that featured party after party, plus primo seats Thursday to see the School of Rock musical at the National Arts Centre.

The evening, which raised funds for care and research at Bruyère, kicked off with a VIP pre-show party at Morguard's Performance Court at 150 Elgin St. It showcased the cuisine of local celebrity chefs, along with specialty cocktails, wine and music.

Following the show, the crowd headed to the after-party held with the cast members in the NAC's Peter A. Herrndorf Place, named after the NAC's recently retired long-time president and CEO. The venue was decorated in fun flair, with giant musical notes, as well as a selection of musical instruments for holding a quickie jam session.

Spotted in the crowd were some of the sponsors, including lawyers André Champagne and Jacques Emond from Emond Harnden; Star Motors vice-president and general manager Yves Laberge; and Morguard operations manager Dayle Dorigo. Other supporters included Bruyère Foundation board members John French and chairman Danny Fernandes, as well as Marco Pagani, president and CEO of the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Back producing the gala was Karen Wood, president of Knock on Wood.
