If you were looking to get involved during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) this year, the nation's capital was apparently the place to be.
Ottawa was named this year’s Top Entrepreneurial Community by Futurpreneur Canada after holding 74 GEW events, 20 more than any other Canadian city.
This is the second year in a row Ottawa has earned the nod from Futurpreneur Canada.
"This is a great recognition for our city and for all of the entrepreneurs who have shown that Ottawa is a leading city to turn a great business idea into reality,” said Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson in a statement.
Speaking of turning business ideas into reality, this year’s GEW events included a Startup Weekend at the University of Ottawa that saw the emergence of three promising new companies.
Watching the throne was the community of Sherbrooke, Que., which held the most GEW events per capita at 49.
See you in 2017, Sherbrooke.
