An Ottawa developer wants to build a nine-storey apartment building in Sandy Hill that would house 191 residential rental units, according to a site plan recently filed with the city.

The proposed development is located at 36 Robinson Ave., between the Rideau River and Lees Avenue. Three low-rise commercial buildings and a two-storey house currently occupy the property.

The builder, TC United Group, says the project will include nearly 23,000 square feet of amenities space such as a gym, lounges, co-working space and a rooftop terrace.

An underground parking garage will have spaces for 71 vehicles, including 18 spots reserved for visitors, and 100 bicycles.

Although the 53 car spaces for residents fall below zoning guidelines for mid-rise apartments, the site plan notes that the property “is situated within walking distance of the Lees LRT Station.”
