Health Canada is inviting contractors to bid to replace a roof on its laboratory centre for disease control building, with a maximum budget of $280,000.
The “roof membrane and wall cladding system” on block three of the facility must be replaced to “ensure the continued integrity of the roofing membrane” and to keep out moisture.
Details of the contract were posted on procurement site Merx, which is commonly used by the federal government.
The building, constructed in 1954-5, is located in the Tunney’s Pasture complex at 100 Eglantine Driveway. The office space inside was renovated in the 1990s. Offices will be occupied during the renovation.
Contractors and subcontractors must have a minimum of five years’ experience and have completed at least two jobs “of a similar nature, size and scale.”
Bids are due Oct. 25. A mandatory site visit takes place Oct. 4.
