Ottawa-based BluMetric names VP Dan Scroggins as interim CEO

New head of clean-tech firm replaces the outgoing Roger Woeller, who will remain on the board of directors

BluMetric’s search for a CEO to replace Roger Woeller is still ongoing, but the Ottawa clean-tech firm has announced Dan Scroggins will fill the role in the interim.

Mr. Scroggins has been with BluMetric Environmental (TSX-V:BLM) since 2006, serving in various roles including chief technology officer, president of the water division and most recently, as vice-president of research and innovation.

The interim CEO has more than 35 years in the water and wastewater treatment field, according to a statement from BluMetric.

The firm first announced earlier this year that it was searching for Mr. Woeller’s replacement. He was meant to stay in place until a permanent CEO had been selected by the board of directors, but BluMetric announced in late October that his term would expire at the end of November.

Mr. Woeller remains on the board of directors and involved in the CEO selection process; that was his hope, according to an interview in June of this year. He told OBJ then that he was “too young to retire.”

"We are pleased with the appointment of Dan Scroggins as interim CEO and have every confidence in the senior management team to continue to move the company forward during this transition period,” said board chair Jane Pagel in a statement.

“At the same time, the company is thankful for Roger's past leadership, and fortunate to have his ongoing input and support on the Board as we strengthen the foundation for future growth."
